Anna

East Village

This cozy shop has been bringing easy-to-wear feminine dresses and go-to wardrobe staples to the East Village for 15 years. Owner and designer Kathy Kemp named the boutique Anna after her grandmother who taught her how to sew, and her passion for fresh silhouettes and customizable details exudes from every piece.

The collection is unique in style, made of quality fabrics, and includes flirty day dresses, sophisticated evening wear, and casual basics. Custom orders are available in most items, which adds a personal touch when choosing length, size, and color (they have 50 fabrics to choose from).  Prices range from $60-$500, with majority of items under $200. Beautiful silk dresses are flattering and versatile for special events and weddings, and range from $160-$190. Favorites include light linen dresses in stripes and neutrals ($150), their famous 7-way dress which they've been making for 10 years ($250), and slouchy linen tees ($125). Don't miss the half-price bin/rack in the back that is always filled with sample goodies and rarely goes over $100.

Vintage-inspired accessories include an amazing small selection of jewelry $20-$375, spanning from fun costume pins to reworked-vintage pendant necklaces.  Statement-making belts with reworked antique materials range from $200-$300, and the classic go-to obi belt is $77.

The best feature of Anna is not only the friendliness and openness of the environment and collection, but how much they care about finding something perfect for you. The staff is more than happy to take you through all the items, helping you style and customize ever piece to make it your own.
