Geminola is filled from floor to ceiling with vintage fabrics re-worked into one-of-a-kind clothing and housewares. In 2004, owner Lorraine Kirke decided to bring her interior design background to her own boutique and handmade clothing line, resulting in a space stocked for the senses. Colorful and eclectic, you are sure to find the perfect piece to splurge on or gather inspiration.
Geminola's amazing fabrics and textures make for vibrant, unique clothing and are often pulled by stylists in the city for events and photo shoots. The international vintage fabrics are from the pre-1950s and include lace, animal print, fringe, polka dots, florals, tulle, ribbon, and sequins. Most items are designed and created in the West Village, with a few true vintage pieces sprinkled in. Prices range from $65-$995 depending on the fabric and style. Favorites include a crocheted tee ($195), sequin tanks ($400-$450), Pucci shorts ($225), and the colorful vintage bikini sets ($195-$225).
The numerous accessories include bags, belts, scarves, jewelry, shoes, and hats. Tucked into corners and in between clothing you can find perfectly aged leather belts, delicately sequined purses, animal print heels, and beaded lace headbands. Some unique housewares include re-worked vintage pillows, lamps, and curtains.
The perfect place for the senses, Geminola is an extraordinary environment brimming with inspirational clothes made from beautiful fabrics.
