Laura Lobdell's boutique may be one of the smallest stores in New York, but this pint-sized space is filled with enough creative inspiration and unique jewelry to keep you looking. After traveling the world, designer Laura Lobdell opened her own boutique to have a home for her whimsical collections and has filled the space with paintings and scultpures - and even a birdcage - to complement the designs.
All the jewelry is inspired by found objects in ones everyday life, ranging from child-like candy adornments to adult match sticks. All the original designs are handmade in NYC and come in sterling silver or gold and range from $39-$500+. The playful food designs include macaroni necklaces ($135-$165) and silver-and-copper candy bracelets ($265). Various match stick necklaces and earrings are $175.
Our favorites are the champagne line and Seeds of Silk creations. The champagne rings are large pure precious metal sculpted from real champagne cages that make beautiful statement-making rings ($275). The Seeds of Silk pieces are brilliantly colored ocean-washed silk bracelets and necklaces that are knotted and twined around pearls for an organic and chic accessory (start at $85).
Laura herself can be found in her boutique with her famous dog, Xiao, in tow and is happy to take you through each collection. A definite must-stop if you're looking for playful and unique jewelry with a story behind each piece.
